6/1/12 We're Off to See the Wizard Blog Hop

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally fr...eaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare expecially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octives highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! Its the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

For Blog Candy we have a 7 - piece paper assortment of 12 x 12 pieces of paper by Paper House Productions

Guest Designer for Memoriesintyme

Today I have the honor of  being a guest designer for Lynda at http://memoriesintyme.com  .  I have made a mini from a kit from CreateSerendipity for a friend of mine that is a teacher.  She teaches 5 year olds and I pretty much left the pages where she can do as she pleases.  She can put pictures of the children or get them to "sign" it.  You just fold this together and can tie it with ribbon or twine for storage.  Thank you Lynda for allowing me to share my project.

Birds of a Feather - Team Queen

Welcome to the Team Queen bi-weekly blog hop for Scrapping With Lisa’s Designs.

Team Queen of my Craftroom is working on the same bird files as Team Princess used last week. We really wanted to show the versatility of the wonderful files that Lisa creates.
...
This week the team was provided the files and asked to use as many of them in their project as possible. We wanted to see one cohesive project. I think you will be pleased with the work the team has done, and I hope you will take the time to fly to my Sister Design Team Members blogs and see what they have created with this file. I am sure you will be pleased.

One nice thing about Paper Piecing is the ability to cut the files out with a machine, or you can cut them out by hand if you do not have the capabilities of using your machine. Lisa provides digital images of each pattern as well. This means that you can print and color as you desire.

My project gave me an opportunity to work with some children from Church.  Sammy Wilson who is a very special friend of ours works with my husband and I teaching children on Wednesday nights.  It is a very diverse group from 1st to 6th grade.  Each one of them cut out the pattern for the birds and glued them together.  We put them in flower pots with some flowers and moss for a special gift for their moms.  I tried to use different birds, but with 15 sets of hands, the bluebirds were the obvious choice.

Our blog hop starts here, http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/ , so please start from the beginning and spread your wings to fly from one blog to the next and check out the wonderful Projects.
The bird file can be found by following this link to Lisa’s Store (http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_17/Birds.htm)
Here is the line up for this weeks hop:

  1. Lynne ~ http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/
  2. Anita ~ http://www.anitaandbugs.blogspot.com/
  3. Theresa ~ http://scrappinginheels.blogspot.com/

My project today is a card showing Dumbo at the Circus.  It is made with Graphic 45 Paper.

There is a great line-up today for the hop and I wouldn't want you to miss a single spot:

Dumbo Blog Lineup:
  1. Lisa - http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/
  2. Lynne ~ http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/
  3. Kimberly ~ http://scrappingrookie.blogspot.com
  4. Anita ~ http://www.anitaandbugs.blogspot.com

You are probably wondering if there is going to be a prize for this hop. There is. It will be a Disney animated movie but I will reveal as to which movie it is going to be at a later time. To be eligible for this prize, you have to follow my blog and everyone else's blog that is in this hop. You also must leave me and the other wonderful ladies a comment in order to qualify for the prize. The grand prize will be awarded at the end of this month. You get one entry for each of the 4 blog hops during the series of Walt Disney Animated Movies Blog Hops during each of the Friday's in the month of May. So if you just choose one of the Fridays to attend, you would only get one entry but if you choose to attend all four hops during the month of May, you get a bonus entry since you came to all four hops, then you will receive 4 + 1 entries, which makes your chance of winning the movie go up with each entry.

Thanks for stopping by today and visiting and checking out my project, I am the last stop on the hop.  Please stop back again real soon for another great project.
